She was seven
Times seven
Driving herself
Right through heaven
And I didn't know where I was
With an old angel I think
Way, way out there…Montana
Taking berries
By the salt licks
On a river
That love can't fix
And I didn't know where I was
With an old angel I think
Way, way out there…Montana
She had a power
To talk to the dead
With this little string thing
She spun from her head
She gave a lesson
The fire pit was dug
Seven second kiss my friend
Eleven second hug
And I didn't know where I was
With an old angel I think
Way, oh way out there…Montana
She was seven
Times seven
Driving herself
Right through heaven
And I didn't know where I was
With an old angel I think
Way, oh way out there…Montana

IN MONTANA is a song about one of the great places in America. The Treasure State is not just rich in scenery, but it has a noticeable spirit side to it as well where coincidences are numerous, and they seem downright uncanny. Perhaps Montana is held in a harmonic vibe long set in place by native people, or by the spirits of dreamers and drifters living in the moment. I always felt safe and hopeful there, and that anything was possible.
