Get on the blue train
Punch your ticket
Feel the same
Medication brings more pain
I’ll guess I’ll get the blame
And when I say I love you
It’s way more than a friend
To the end
It must be sunny in Manhattan
Riders just the same
That young thing’s dressed in satin
With nothing to her name
I used to be this way
Not too long ago
You saved me from myself
Somehow
There’s no money for a Broadway show
We’ll just bum around, like long ago
Well, maybe it’s just how I see
In a world I can’t wait to be
The town I can’t wait to leave
Then it’s back home for me
And when I say I love you
It’s way more than a friend
That’s right, I said I love you
To the end
To the end
To the end
To the end
To the end

BLUE TRAIN TO MANHATTAN is a recollection of the train rides we would take from New Haven, Connecticut to Manhattan’s Penn Station. I always found it hopeful to know that I’d be going to this amazing city, rich with sights and so full of characters. To be there with someone you love makes it all the better. In the end, the city cleans you out of your last dollar, and you know you have to return home. The lesson of New York, and anywhere else, is that when you arrive with an upbeat heart, the more you’ll get out of it. What do you bring to it?
