AVAILABLE LIGHT is a love song about photography, inspired by working with LIFE photographer Rowland Scherman on his film biography. It promotes the idea of an earned love of something- or someone, through the "captured" image... arising from the full openness of both the human eye, and the heart. We see, but do we feel? We feel, but can we love? Out of it maybe is a rare but useful symbiosis between a subject and its photographer. It's just an instant, but who is capturing who with the snap of the shutter? You never fully know the full picture until it all plays out, and it can take an entire lifetime to get it.
