WHERE NO ONE HAD KNOWN HER is about a longing for departure from the place you were born and grew up in. Inspired by a devastating flood in South Dakota in the 1970s, it's about wanting to escape the pull of a town but not being able to. Obstacles exist that prevent your dreams from happening. The reasons may be economic, the powers of family, inertia, nostalgia, substance abuse, fear, or self-defeatism in its many forms. Moving around is not for everyone but in the end, a little travel never hurt. Go while you can.
Where's the love you read about?
Where on earth are you?
Where's the dove that you let out?
We'll never know the truth
This is what I'm up against
I've trained so hard to avoid
Dependent on dependents mad
You wonder why I look so sad
Don't tell your brothers this
You know they won't listen
They'll slide and lose control
Private pleasure, but something's missing
Private pleasure, but something's missing
Private pleasure, but something's missing
