Have you ever known good fortune?
Haven you ever known pain?
I know a place where's nothing's forever
I love a place where it rains
In my wilderness
In my home
In my wilderness
And always in my love
We flew over a lonely meadow
Wheatfield over the hill
I could see the whirlybird shadow
And feel our foggy morning chill
In my wilderness
In my home
In my wilderness
And always in my love
Miles of solitude
Looking for the truth
You’re dreaming you found it first
Now you see the light
Far from the love you knew
Don’t be surprised if it hurts
In my wilderness
In my home
In my wilderness
And always in my love
In my wilderness
In my home
In my wilderness
And always in my love

In My Wilderness is a drive-along road song that rounds out our album. It’s also the title song. Let’s just call it a statement about freedom, and self-respect. Despite such distance and time, we value the core of our experience. We think we know what love is, and why we’ve traveled there. This song is about the strength it takes to remain open to experience. Surely we’re vulnerable but we need to keep exploring our depths, to repair what’s broken, and get back up. The trek goes on to see what we’re made of.
